Learn More About Our Programs

The Infant and Toddler classrooms enroll children beginning at 6 weeks and range in groups up to the age of 2. BAE’s Ed. Infant and Toddler Program is based on the philosophy that children flourish in a nourishing atmosphere of responsive, ongoing caregiving in which they develop at their own pace. Infants and toddlers naturally crave a self-soothing environment where they feel safe to explore and develop their own image. Our Infant and Toddler Program aims to continuously provide a warm, nurturing, and safe environment with well-defined sleep and play areas for our babies and toddlers. Age-appropriate toys, materials, and activities are available with the intention of allowing infants and toddlers to access provocations, invitations and open-ended play schedules. At BAE’s Ed. we provide our infants and toddlers with the opportunities to make choices, encouraging recognition of their individual growth patterns, and having respect for their individual service needs and temperaments. This is what we call an individual needs and service plan, which is created by the family and lead teacher of the program, carefully designed to fit the needs of each child. Within your child’s infant/toddler needs and service plan you will find information like proper health/safety protocols, along with routine care information consistently related to the development of infant proper child and teacher schedules for safe sleeping and feeding schedules. As each child learns, grows and develops, each individual needs and services plan is updated concurrently and follows each student onto the next stage of development, our Toddler program.

Within the Toddler program specifically, BAE’s Ed. focuses on building upon what the infant program has already established. Children continue to be encouraged to develop their fine motor, gross motor and cognitive skills and are provided with the ample materials and environment to do so. With lots of running space, both indoors and outdoors, our toddlers are able to safely navigate and master their curiosity, inviting plenty of space for gross motor activity, socio-dramatic play spaces, portable art, music and movement and much more. Additionally, as our toddlers become more independent while working through toilet training and self-help skills, they are provided with a wide array of activities designed to foster their social and emotional development through play. While our toddler classroom does participate in the early stages of curriculum and activity building, color and shape recognition and much more. Do keep in mind, there is no designated circle time for our toddlers during this time as it is best practice that toddlers learn on their own time. While our Toddlers are in the early stage of language development, at BAE’s Ed. we also encourage the introduction of our dual-language immersion program. Toddler classrooms consist of children 12 months and older.
